Manchester United Call For The Bench Warmers

The form team of the current European season has been hit by a number of injuries to key players. Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Louis Saha are reportedly going to stay home when the Red Devils play their fourth Champions League, Group F match against FC Copenhagen tonight.

This knee injury could not have come at a more inopportune time for Saha, as he was finally rewarding the Alex Ferguson's faith and the big transfer fee that was outlayed for him. Wayne Rooney's hat-trick in United's rout of Bolton had delighted fans who were salivating at the thought of the two hit-men decimating opposition defences in seasons to come.

Perennial bench-warmer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is slated to replace Saha, with Wes Brown coming in for Neville. United may miss the influence of Giggs around the pitch, however with Michael Carrick stepping up his performances of late, any adverse impact from Gigg's non-appearance should be minimised.

Either way, Copenhagen are not exactly a Chelsea or a Barcelona. United should have more than enough fire power to complete a comprehensive victory and waltz into the round of 16.

I have no news, yet, of how serious these injuries are. However, I still maintain that United are on their way to repeating the success of 1999. Mark my words, this is a team that legends are made of.

Yes indeed. The lads have done a terrific job this season and must be congratulated on their performances. Although they might no have a team of champions, like Chelsea, they certainly do have a champion side. Rooney is back to his best, Ronaldo over his injury worries, the best is yet to come.
